In 2001, Kitty Boeddeker, Joe Palermo, David Cox, Angel O'Briant and Sally Ahlstedt founded the
Henderson Art Association to promote local visual artists.

The Henderson Art Association will be a vital part of the cultural scene of Henderson. The city has
a long commitment to the cultural life of its residents. The performing arts are well represented in
"Shakespeare in the Park", the Henderson Civic Symphony annual programs of music, dance, theater
and children's programs. "Visual arts and performing arts are valued partners in the redevelopment
and revitalization of historic downtown Henderson, and the Henderson Art Association is the inaugural
participant in it renaissance," Sally Ahlstedt, Assistant Recreation Coordinator, City of Henderson.

The Henderson Art Association is incorporated as a non-profit organization and maintains its goals
and integrity by serving local artists and friends of the visual arts. Membership is by jury selection.

The work of the artists exhibiting at the gallery is diverse in style from traditional to contemporary in
the mediums of painting, sculpture, photography, jewelry and glass. Established and emerging artists
are presented in juried and invitational shows as well as individual and themed shows.

All exhibitions are open to the public, free of charge.

The HAA's commitment to its founding mission of providing artistic opportunities for local artists is
supported by educational opportunities through workshops, classes and special programs.

We invite you to visit our gallery and enjoy the work of our established and emerging artists.
